Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that we just did an interview with the CEO of Creative Commons and angel investor, Joi Ito. The podcast is in spanish (the first 25 minutes of it) but after that you can listen to the original interview in english without interruptions.
The interview is targeted for people who don’t know too much about Creative Commons. Enjoy!
A few weeks ago, my friend Eduardo Arcos from Hipertextual had a great idea. The premise was “sunday mornings are kind of boring”, so why not make it a little bit more interesting for all?.
Sunday Morning! is an informal meeting of entrepreneurs on the Internet on Sunday mornings. There is nothing better than breakfast while we talked about our projects, ideas and thoughts about what is happening on the Internet. Sunday Morning! was born in Mexico city last weekend, gathering around 10 people interested in the idea. Not bad at all.
Sunday Mornings! is a low-profile meeting, is not intended to gather dozens of people, not institutionalize it in some way.
It’s my pleasure to announce that Sunday Morning! Tokyo is happening this weekend, so if you live nearby or in Tokyo, come over and let’s talk! Bring your laptops, cameras and curiosity!
This is the kind of stuff that Seiichi Saito and Daito Manabe do when they have some free time. These guys are real geniuses, and they happened to be my partners in a small new venture I’m starting in Mexico. I’ll post more stuff about this soon.
Welcome to my first post on my personal blog. I’ve been blogging for about 6 years from now, mostly about the videogame industry and videogames in general because of my “Everyday” work. I needed to create this personal blog because I felt like I wasn’t able talk about some more personal topics, basically because that old blog (only in spanish) is now a tool of communication with a large community of gamers and followers of Atomix Magazine .I’m currently working on two different publishing companies and also in two new companies yet to be created. In both cases I’m working hand to hand with a very talented group of people. I will try to talk about that on this space too, sharing my experience as a CEO of some of those companies and also about doing business in Mexico.I want to write a brief introduction to what I do, on the publishing side, we publish 3 monthly magazines and websites called:
Atomix (Covering the videogame industry in Latin America. A magazine and online community focused for the general videogame audience, probably the biggest videogame community and magazine on the region)
Sputnik (Covering the tech industry, focused on the consumer electronics sector, new technologies applied to everyday life, and the internet)
Sonika (Covering the music industry, focused on international alternative and indie artists)
Currently, I’m also working on 2 different companies that I cannot disclose too much information about. One is related to the videogame industry tough, and the other one is a technology + event planning company I’m establishing in Mexico. Both of my new companies have a strong relationship with Japanese based companies, that’s the reason why I travel often to the land of the rising sun. Hence the name of this blog, “Neotokyo”, also inspired by Japanese manga and anime “Akira”.
So that’s a brief intro to this new space on the net. I’ll keep posting on this blog (as the title says) about business, random thoughts, my hobbies and some of my interests. I’m expecting to have great conversations on the comments area of each post, so please, feel free to add some!Welcome again. ^_^
It looks like the author of this blog hasn't posted any status updates yet. You should bother him/her with a fair amount of persistence until something gets done.
This is my personal blog. My name is Oscar Yasser Noriega and some people know me as "Akira". I'm currently based in Tokyo, Japan and I consider myself a full time entrepreneur. You can read a small Bio about what I do and what've done.
