Photoset from my last vacation trip to Tokyo

tokyodecadanceWhile I was in Japan for vacations (not the last trip, but before), I took some photos at some random places, including one crazy party called “Tokyo Decadance”. The party itself is something really huge even outside of Japan, the party is organized by a French guy who happened to be a friend of a friend, weird. I was staying at Asuka’s flat which was really comfortable, the opportunity to enjoy the Tokyo lifestyle like this is a little bit strange since I usually stay on hotels while I’m there. One of the coolest things is that she lives really near to Tokyo Tower, so basically everyday I walked around the area and I had a great view of the tower. She also was kind enough to borrow me her bicycle so I could wonder around town. I had a great time while I was there.

So, this is it…

Welcome to my first post on my personal blog. I’ve been blogging for about 6 years from now, mostly about the videogame industry and videogames in general because of my “Everyday” work. I needed to create this personal blog because I felt like I wasn’t able talk about some more personal topics, basically because that old blog (only in spanish) is now a tool of communication with a large community of gamers and followers of Atomix Magazine .I’m currently working on two different publishing companies and also in two new companies yet to be created. In both cases I’m working hand to hand with a very talented group of people. I will try to talk about that on this space too, sharing my experience as a CEO of some of those companies and also about doing business in Mexico.I want to write a brief introduction to what I do,  on the publishing side, we publish 3 monthly magazines and websites called:

  • Atomix (Covering the videogame industry in Latin America. A magazine and online community focused for the general videogame audience, probably the biggest videogame community and magazine on the region)
  • Sputnik (Covering the tech industry, focused on the consumer electronics sector, new technologies applied to everyday life, and the internet)
  • Sonika (Covering the music industry, focused on international alternative and indie artists)
  • Neotokyo

  • That’s Neotokyo, according to Katsuhiro Otomo

Currently, I’m also working on 2 different companies that I cannot disclose too much information about. One is related to the videogame industry tough, and the other one is a technology + event planning company I’m establishing in Mexico. Both of my new companies have a strong relationship with Japanese based companies, that’s the reason why I travel often to the land of the rising sun. Hence the name of this blog, “Neotokyo”, also inspired by Japanese manga and anime “Akira”.

  • So that’s a brief intro to this new space on the net. I’ll keep posting on this blog (as the title says) about business, random thoughts, my hobbies and some of my interests. I’m expecting to have great conversations on the comments area of each post, so please, feel free to add some!Welcome again. ^_^
